Complete one of the following assignment options by presenting a 20- to 30-minute presentation.

Note: Acquire permission from your facilitator, as indicated in Week 3, so that each option is covered and not duplicated, if possible.

• Option 1: Choose three experiential interventions from Ch. 12 of Theory and Practice of Family Therapy and Counseling.
• Option 2: Choose three solution-focused or solution-oriented interventions from Ch. 9 of Theory and Practice of Family Therapy and Counseling.
• Option 3: Choose three postmodern interventions from Ch. 13 of Theory and Practice of Family Therapy and Counseling. Cover the use of deconstruction and externalization.
• Option 4: Choose three CBT family interventions from Ch. 15 of Theory and Practice of Family Therapy and Counseling.

Complete all of the following with regard to your selected assignment option:

• Prepare role-plays demonstrating each of the chosen interventions and present to the class.
• Lead the class in a discussion to identify each intervention, describing how each is implemented and when each might be used.
• Discuss how the therapist maintains rapport with each family member while implementing each of these interventions.
• Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of experiential interventions.
• Ask probing questions to create more interaction with the class, addressing necessary information as needed.
