Setting a Good Example
To prepare for this week’s Seminar, read Chapter 12 “Nutritional Guidelines.”
Record your personal food intake and physical activity for the past 24 hours. Go to the SuperTracker link below and complete both “Food Tracker” and “Physical Activity Tracker” activities.
Analyze the results of your 24-hour food intake by comparing it with the appropriate recommendations. Based on these results, be prepared to respond to the following questions:
Think about your health habits. Are you physically active? What are your most frequent food choices? How could you improve your eating habits?
Which of your behaviors are the young children in your care repeating/mimicking? What are some suggestions that will make your influence most positive?

To earn Seminar credit for this unit, complete oneof the following options below:
Option 1- Attend Seminar:
You are strongly encouraged to fulfill your Seminar requirement through this option if possible. Many students find the synchronous discussion very helpful because the instructor will clarify the unit information and your classmates may pose questions that you also have about the material.
Option 2- Alternative Assignment:
If you are unable to participate in the live Seminar, submit a 200–300-word essay answering the Seminar questions listed above. Seminar Option 2 postings need to be in Microsoft Word and incorporate the text material. Your response to the Seminar questions should be composed in complete sentences and paragraphs. Be sure to answer all questions and include references to earn your Seminar points. Please refer to the Seminar rubric for grading details and contact your instructor if you have questions about anything covered in the Seminar.
The Option 2 Assignment should be completed and submitted to the Unit 4 Seminar Dropbox before the unit deadline (Tuesday night).
