The best way to learn public speaking—other than actually doing it—is to observe other speakers in action, and analyze what factors contributed to the strengths or weaknesses of their presentations.

Complete an internet search for a non-political, public speech or presentation. Watch the video, and answer the following questions:

• What made this presentation effective? (Consider gestures, voice, etc.)
• What are three points of information you gathered from this presentation or speech? What made you remember these pieces of information?
• Based on what you’ve learned in this course, what methods would assist in improving the clarity and effectiveness of the presentation or speech?

Cite the speech in your response.
